C-IAY, E- RYT 500
Cathy realized the amazing healing benefits of yoga after her first class almost 20 years ago. She still considers herself a perpetual student and enjoys continuing to learn more about yoga through her personal practice as well as through a variety of many different trainings and teachers. Cathy feels honored to be able to bring yoga to others as a teacher. She is often humbled by what her students have to teach her as well. Although she has taught many different formats of yoga, she resonates most with teaching gentle yoga as well as seeing clients privately. Cathy is a registered E-RYT 500 teacher with Yoga Alliance, has earned her 100 hour warriors certificate (focused on yoga for mental health) as well as has her Yoga and Ayurveda 300 hour certificate.
Michelle is a 200 hr E-RYT, specializing in mobility and the movement of fascia in the body. She obtained her 200 hour training through Power of Now Oasis in Bali, Indonesia, and is working toward her 500 hour with Yoga Medicine. Currently, Michelle is studying for her Doctorate of Chiropractic and Masters in Sports Medicine degrees. She loves to incorporate bits and pieces from her studies into her yoga classes by combining anatomy with creative flows. When you take a class from her, you’ll get strong movements, clear alignment, and creative sequencing. She likes to get down to the nitty, gritty basics of poses and movements and will focus on proper alignment for YOUR body. She guarantees a safe environment for you to practice, sweat, and kick butt in!!
Hello! I am Kristi and I like to refer to myself as a reformed cynical yogi.😝
I started my yoga practice in 2005 as I was finishing my degree in animal science. As a person that loves research and studies, I thought my yoga instructor was a bit “out there” with all her talk of meditation, mindfulness, and finding peace within my mind and body.
As my practice grew, I started to understand what my instructor was talking about, but from a science lens that was relatable for me.
I continue to geek out on the powerful and exponential research that has been done on mindfulness, meditation and yoga and bring that into my yoga and Thai massage practice.
I teach Gentle and Hatha based classes that will ask you to be mindful of the subtle sensations within your body, but also challenge you in a deeper way to hold the poses. We will also deepen your philosophical practice by asking you to notice patterns that you are holding within your body and mind.We get curious about those patterns and ask the question: Are these physical and/or emotional patterns helping or hindering?
If they aren’t helping then we get to work together to figure out how to work with or change them. If they are working then we continue on the path we have created for ourselves and dive deeper.
I hope you will join me as we continue on our yoga journey together!
